Leisure & Incentive
There is much to discover - leisure fun in the Harz Mountains
The right mix of recreation, sports and culture make the climatic health resort Goslar-Hahnenklee unique.
The nearby imperial town of Goslar with its 47 churches and chapels invites you to a historical stroll. The unique panorama of the Harz Nature Park and the clear mountain air really get sports enthusiasts going when hiking, Nordic walking or mountain biking and offer perfect conditions for tobogganing and skiing and cross-country skiing in winter.
The landmark of Hahnenklee - The stave church
The Gustav Adolf Staff Church was built according to Nordic models and completed in 1908. Neither nails nor screws were used in the basic wooden construction. Stave churches have existed for around 900 years, but today the last ones are found almost exclusively in Norway. This beautiful church is equipped with a Goll organ from Lucerne and a carillon, a tower chime that can be played live with fist and foot. Not least because of its imposing appearance, unique ambience and impressive interior, this church is popular, especially as a wedding church. Readings, classical music evenings and gospel concerts are held here.
The Bocksberg
With its 726 meters height, the Bocksberg offers a breathtaking view. For the way to the top you can use one of the countless and beautiful hiking trails or use the Bocksberg cable car. During a leisurely ride, you will get the best view of the surrounding area and the spa town of Hahnenklee, which is located directly at the foot of the mountain. In winter you can make your way down to the valley on one of the beautiful ski slopes. For cyclists, the bike park offers ideal conditions. It is the northernmost bike park in Germany. The Bocksberg cable car takes you and your equipment comfortably to the starting point of the downhill run. You can choose between seven different routes. These have different levels of difficulty, so both beginners and professionals will get their money's worth here. Bikes and equipment can be rented in Hahnenklee. The bike park is usually open from mid-April to the end of October. In case of exceptionally favorable weather conditions and a correspondingly good condition of the slopes, an opening in the winter half-year is possible. Please inquire about this on the website of the ErlebnisBockBerg Hahnenklee GmbH.
